To begin, we ask for some basic information about you and your ancestors, including names, dates, and places. If you have any old family documents on hand, having those scanned can be a helpful starting point. Beyond that, you don’t need to do any research yourself. Gathering and organizing your documentation is what we do.

Most cases take approximately 3 to 4 months to compile the full documentation needed for a citizenship application. The timeline can vary depending on where your ancestral records are held and how quickly those archives respond. If we anticipate any delays in your specific case, we will communicate that to you proactively.

Submission procedures vary by country. Some allow applications to be mailed in, while others require an in-person visit to an embassy or consulate. We will walk you through exactly what is required for your case so there is no ambiguity at that stage.

In nearly every case, no. If language proficiency is a requirement for a particular citizenship, we will let you know before we begin and can refer you to a qualified language instructor. Any language instruction would be arranged separately and falls outside the scope of our services.

For most clients, no. The United States and Eritrea are the only two countries in the world that tax based on citizenship rather than residency. Unless you are living abroad, a second citizenship is unlikely to have any impact on your tax obligations. If you have concerns about your individual situation, we recommend consulting a qualified tax professional.

Retrieval fees vary by case, but generally fall somewhere between a few hundred and low four figures. If a particular retrieval looks like it will require a larger expenditure, we will flag it for your approval before proceeding. Our goal is always to keep these costs as reasonable as possible.
